Sis, you’re not crazy — waiting really is hard

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑,

Earlier this year, I was begging God for clarity. My heart was heavy, my mind confused, and my soul exhausted. It felt like I was stuck on a hamster wheel, crying out while God seemed silent.

I prayed for relief, for some kind of understanding that would let me breathe again — but nothing shifted. No matter how many gospel songs I played or sermons I watched, I stayed unsettled.

I even started wondering if I was so messed up that He wasn’t looking out for me. Deep down though, I knew it wasn’t His absence — it was my own disobedience, impatience, and frustration keeping me bound. I was leaning way too much on my own understanding.

This cycle went on for months until I finally cried out, “Lord, break my heart.” Not in a malicious way, but in desperation — I needed Him to release me from what had me so tangled that I couldn’t focus on Him. I needed something undeniable, something that wouldn’t leave me questioning if it was Him or not.

And when He answered, my eyes opened. Looking back on that waiting season, I can see all the lessons I would’ve missed if He had moved sooner. Even in the darkness, His hand never left mine. He was developing me in ways the mountaintop could never teach. His faithfulness never changed.

“Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” — Habakkuk 2:3

Gentle Reflections for You:

  1. Journal Prompt: Where has God been faithful before, even when you couldn’t see it at the time?
  2. Speak This Over Yourself: “God is faithful in my waiting.”
  3. Practice: Take 5 minutes today to pause and name one lesson you only learned because you had to wait.

Queen, if you’re in a waiting season right now, trust this: His hand is steady, even here. Look back at the last time He carried you — that same faithfulness is covering you today. 💫

With faith and softness,
Gianina

A Queens Day In

Hi my name is Gianina! I create space for healing—restoring ourselves through the kind of vulnerable conversations that bring real change. In 2021, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. In 2025, I was declared legally partially blind. Both moments shook me to my core, but life didn’t stop. God kept sharpening my identity in Him. Through therapy, prayer, and community, I began having raw and vulnerable conversations that restored me piece by piece. 💫 My testimony is beautifully layered. Today, I’m still picking up broken pieces and letting God mold me. Because He is a Restorer. He built me to be Resilient. And He’s used my story to help me Reconnect with faith and purpose.

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, I've never been here before. I had that thought recently. While I was sitting alone on a friend's patio with my tea, Bible open, just enjoying the quiet. Nothing extraordinary was happening. I wasn't praying some deep prayer or wrestling with some huge decision. I. Have. Never. Been. Here. Before. I've never been this age, in this moment, with these feelings, getting tp know God on this level, getting to know ME in this way, never been this deep into my singleness. And my...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, What if God isn’t giving you a new assignment…He’s recalibrating how you steward the one He already gave you? Recently, I realized that one of my fears had quietly taken over something God asked me to do. I’ve been in the event industry for as long as I can remember. Even when I was deep in my first love of dance, I was planning video shoots, photo shoots, and unforgettable experiences. My last big-girl job (lol) was as an Event Manager. My vision wasn’t the best then...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, We always talk about trusting God. But can we talk about what grief changes besides our hearts? Lately, I've been wondering if it changes what we notice. Losing one of my girls has put me in a position of disbelief. Not disbelief in God, but disbelief that all the things she believed I could accomplish... she won't get to witness in the natural. My daily rhythm that included her has to change. And I do mean daily. It feels like the gold thread that helped me put pieces of...
