I've never been her ebefore

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑,

I've never been here before.

I had that thought recently. While I was sitting alone on a friend's patio with my tea, Bible open, just enjoying the quiet. Nothing extraordinary was happening. I wasn't praying some deep prayer or wrestling with some huge decision.

I. Have. Never. Been. Here. Before.

I've never been this age, in this moment, with these feelings, getting tp know God on this level, getting to know ME in this way, never been this deep into my singleness.

And my God... that thought alone has freed me this week.

Even though I'm doing some things I've done before, it's different. Even the prayers I'm still believing for will be answered in ways I've never experienced.

So…why can't I sit in grace long enough to remember that?

Why do I have moments where I know God still has His hands on me, but my head is still tilted with a puzzled look on my face, tapping my foot like, "Okay Lord... now what?" 😂

I realized that's why I wanted to move past the understanding phase of this season and jump straight into the doing.

I wanted clarity before movement.

Confidence before obedience.

I wanted to feel like I knew exactly what I was doing before taking the next step. But how could I expect mastery in a season I've never lived before?

Finally, I wasn't frustrated with myself. I had compassion for myself.

Because of course I don't know exactly what this season looks like and that is perfectly fine.

I've been made new on a daily basis, so most days it feels like I'm holding a map that's not only in another language, but upside down too... but I know it's a map. 😂

Maybe I'm not lost.

Maybe I'm just learning a landscape I've never walked before.

The more I sat with that thought, the more I realized something else. The way I've operated before won't sustain me here.

My fire deserves freshness.

My discipline deserves freshness.

My prayer deserves freshness.

My perspective deserves freshness.

Not because God has brought me this far to figure it out alone.

But because the same God who brought me here is still leading me here.

That reminds me of Proverbs 3:5–6:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths."

I've read those verses so many times before.

But this week, they felt different.

Sometimes…most times trusting God doesn't always look like having the whole map, it looks like trusting the Guide while you learn the landscape.

Maybe we've been expecting too much of ourselves.

Expecting ourselves to already know how to navigate a season we've never lived. But maybe the invitation this week isn't to figure everything out.

Maybe it's simply to trust the God who's already here. To receive His grace while He teaches us the landscape. Because this season doesn't feel unfamiliar because you're doing it wrong.

It feels unfamiliar because you've never been here before.

And maybe...

That's exactly where God's grace meets you.

With grace, revelation, and freshness,

Gianina 💛

A Queens Day In

Hi my name is Gianina! I create space for healing—restoring ourselves through the kind of vulnerable conversations that bring real change. In 2021, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. In 2025, I was declared legally partially blind. Both moments shook me to my core, but life didn’t stop. God kept sharpening my identity in Him. Through therapy, prayer, and community, I began having raw and vulnerable conversations that restored me piece by piece. 💫 My testimony is beautifully layered. Today, I’m still picking up broken pieces and letting God mold me. Because He is a Restorer. He built me to be Resilient. And He’s used my story to help me Reconnect with faith and purpose.

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, What if God isn’t giving you a new assignment…He’s recalibrating how you steward the one He already gave you? Recently, I realized that one of my fears had quietly taken over something God asked me to do. I’ve been in the event industry for as long as I can remember. Even when I was deep in my first love of dance, I was planning video shoots, photo shoots, and unforgettable experiences. My last big-girl job (lol) was as an Event Manager. My vision wasn’t the best then...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, We always talk about trusting God. But can we talk about what grief changes besides our hearts? Lately, I've been wondering if it changes what we notice. Losing one of my girls has put me in a position of disbelief. Not disbelief in God, but disbelief that all the things she believed I could accomplish... she won't get to witness in the natural. My daily rhythm that included her has to change. And I do mean daily. It feels like the gold thread that helped me put pieces of...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, Have you ever had God do something so specific that all you could do was laugh? 😂 Not because it was funny. But because it was unmistakably Him. Girrrlll… a lot has happened since the last Holy Tea. A few weeks ago, I had a dream about California. I didn’t know exactly what it meant at the time, but one thing stood out: even though there was chaos, my belongings were protected. Fast forward to the week I was supposed to fly out to California for my best friend’s...
