I May Have Been Avoiding This…

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑,

It’s been a little quiet over here. God and I have had… some conversations. 😅

And girl, I may or may not have been avoiding ya’ll.

Lately, I’ve been feeling limits in every direction, mental, financial, spiritual.

Mentally, I’ve been looping thoughts like, “I can’t afford to run this ministry.”

Financially, I’ve been calculating and re-calculating what makes sense.

Spiritually, I’ve felt stretched to do more… but also aware that I hadn’t taken the steps. And then the nudges started.

Someone reached out about an event we’re hosting in May. Then I locked my card so I wouldn’t pay for the email platform. But when I unlocked it to pay for food, five minutes later, my card got charged for the platform anyway. And ya’ll know I don’t believe in coincidences. Not with the God thaat we serve.

I felt called out. It felt like a confrontation. I laughed and rolled my eyes like, “Okay God… You real funny.”

Then someone from my blind body care team said, “You should be sharing more of your story. You should be talking more.”

That’s when it clicked though. It wasn’t pressure, it was pure love. God’s love doesn’t just comfort us. Sometimes it calls us higher, sis.

And being called higher low-key terrifies and excites me at the same time. Stepping back into ministry? That scares me more than learning new mobility tools. Mobility feels private. Ministry feels public. It feels heavier.

Part of me wanted to hide behind responsibility.
“I need to focus on transition.”
“I need to focus on learning my cane.”
“I need to focus on new technologies.”

And those things are real. But it was also fear disguised as responsibility. I’m afraid of representing God incorrectly as I’m still learning Him.I’m afraid of the pressure of influence. But what excites me?

The intimacy. The impact on women. The way obedience deepens relationships. And it’s becoming clear that my transition and my calling are not separate things. I’ve been avoiding that truth.

His love keeps reminding me of the promises. And those promises are fuel. Because getting to those promises means I had to submit. I had to surrender. I had to allow myself to be molded. Not to earn blessings. But to become the woman who can steward them.

Maybe obedience unlocks provision. Maybe the next step isn’t about having it all figured out. Maybe it’s about trusting that the same love that called me… will carry me.

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.” — Philippians 2:13

If you’ve been feeling stretched lately, not condemned, not abandoned, just stretched…

Maybe that’s love calling you higher too. Not to hustle or to perform. But to respond.

Before you close this email, pause and ask yourself:

Where has God been nudging me that I’ve been pretending not to hear?

What step feels heavy, but also holy? And then sit with this prayer:

A Prayer for Obedient Love

Lord, let Your love continue to be ignited in me so I can obey Your will for my life. Reveal every fear and every doubt, and transform my mind and perspective so I can trust You more deeply.

Lord, I know on the other side of my “yes” there is provision waiting — because You love me that much. Remind me of Your loving nature. Show me again that You are a lamp guiding each of my steps… even when I’m tempted to close my own eyes. Teach me that Your love is not pressuring me — it’s leading me.
Not shaming me — but shaping me.

And as You call me higher, help me remember that I am already held.

Amen.

With softness, growth, and obedience,
Gianina

A Queens Day In

Hi my name is Gianina! I create space for healing—restoring ourselves through the kind of vulnerable conversations that bring real change. In 2021, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. In 2025, I was declared legally partially blind. Both moments shook me to my core, but life didn’t stop. God kept sharpening my identity in Him. Through therapy, prayer, and community, I began having raw and vulnerable conversations that restored me piece by piece. 💫 My testimony is beautifully layered. Today, I’m still picking up broken pieces and letting God mold me. Because He is a Restorer. He built me to be Resilient. And He’s used my story to help me Reconnect with faith and purpose.

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, I've never been here before. I had that thought recently. While I was sitting alone on a friend's patio with my tea, Bible open, just enjoying the quiet. Nothing extraordinary was happening. I wasn't praying some deep prayer or wrestling with some huge decision. I. Have. Never. Been. Here. Before. I've never been this age, in this moment, with these feelings, getting tp know God on this level, getting to know ME in this way, never been this deep into my singleness. And my...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, What if God isn’t giving you a new assignment…He’s recalibrating how you steward the one He already gave you? Recently, I realized that one of my fears had quietly taken over something God asked me to do. I’ve been in the event industry for as long as I can remember. Even when I was deep in my first love of dance, I was planning video shoots, photo shoots, and unforgettable experiences. My last big-girl job (lol) was as an Event Manager. My vision wasn’t the best then...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, We always talk about trusting God. But can we talk about what grief changes besides our hearts? Lately, I've been wondering if it changes what we notice. Losing one of my girls has put me in a position of disbelief. Not disbelief in God, but disbelief that all the things she believed I could accomplish... she won't get to witness in the natural. My daily rhythm that included her has to change. And I do mean daily. It feels like the gold thread that helped me put pieces of...
