God Checked Me… and I’m Grateful 😅

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑,

You ever have one of those moments where God lovingly pulls you to the side and says, “Alright… we need to talk.”

Not in a scary way or in a shame-you way.But in that quiet, “I love you too much to leave this unchecked” kind of way.

Recently, I joined “The Whole Man Revival” online, led by Prophet Davon Felton, and baybeee… every day felt like God was opening another drawer in my heart.

Each session focused on a different topic, and with every message and guest speaker, another little drawer in my heart got unpacked and revealed. Some of the insights were encouraging. Others? Whew. Not that cute.

But the one that really snatched my edges was the word entitlement.

When I first heard it, my immediate reaction was, oh who’s that for?? Because ain’t no way that’s me.
As hyper-independent as I am? Please. I pride myself on handling things myself. I don’t expect people to do things for me.

Or at least… that’s what I thought.

As I sat with it a little longer, something started to shift. I realized my version of entitlement didn’t look like “everyone owes me something.” Mine looked a little quieter. A little more subtle.

It leaned more towards feeling like people should understand what I’m carrying… so why should I have to ask for help or support?

And when that realization landed, I’ll be honest ya’ll, I felt a little embarrassed because there were two sides to the same coin. Different in posture, but same in nature.

I felt exposed. Not in a shame-filled way, but in a way that quietly showed “wow… God really sees everything in me.”

But here’s what surprised me.

When I reflected on it afterward, I didn’t feel condemned. I didn’t feel rejected. I didn’t even feel stuck.

I actually felt ready.

Ready to do the work.
Ready to grow.
Ready to let God reshape what I didn’t even realize was there.

Because what I experienced wasn’t rejection. It was love at work.

Scripture says it plainly:

“For the Lord disciplines the one He loves.”
— Hebrews 12:6

Read that again sis…the one He loves.

So if you’ve had a moment recently where God gently exposed something in your heart… a mindset, a posture, a pattern you didn’t even realize was there… that moment may not be rejection.

It may actually be evidence that His love is still working in you. Because God doesn’t correct what He’s abandoned. He corrects what He’s committed to.

And if He’s revealing something in you, it’s because He’s still shaping you, refining you, and preparing you for who He’s calling you to become.

Sometimes His love comforts us. And sometimes His love corrects us. But both are proof that His hand is still on our life.

So before you rush past the conviction sis… sit with it for a moment.

Not to shame yourself or spiral. Just to ask God what He might be lovingly transforming in you right now.

Gentle Reflection for This Week

Take a few quiet minutes and journal through this:

Where might God be lovingly correcting something in my heart right now to prepare me for what he has next?

Because the places where God convicts us are often the same places where He’s preparing to grow us.

With grace and reflection,
Gianina

A Queens Day In

Hi my name is Gianina! I create space for healing—restoring ourselves through the kind of vulnerable conversations that bring real change. In 2021, I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. In 2025, I was declared legally partially blind. Both moments shook me to my core, but life didn’t stop. God kept sharpening my identity in Him. Through therapy, prayer, and community, I began having raw and vulnerable conversations that restored me piece by piece. 💫 My testimony is beautifully layered. Today, I’m still picking up broken pieces and letting God mold me. Because He is a Restorer. He built me to be Resilient. And He’s used my story to help me Reconnect with faith and purpose.

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, I've never been here before. I had that thought recently. While I was sitting alone on a friend's patio with my tea, Bible open, just enjoying the quiet. Nothing extraordinary was happening. I wasn't praying some deep prayer or wrestling with some huge decision. I. Have. Never. Been. Here. Before. I've never been this age, in this moment, with these feelings, getting tp know God on this level, getting to know ME in this way, never been this deep into my singleness. And my...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, What if God isn’t giving you a new assignment…He’s recalibrating how you steward the one He already gave you? Recently, I realized that one of my fears had quietly taken over something God asked me to do. I’ve been in the event industry for as long as I can remember. Even when I was deep in my first love of dance, I was planning video shoots, photo shoots, and unforgettable experiences. My last big-girl job (lol) was as an Event Manager. My vision wasn’t the best then...

Hey Queen Reader 🖤👑, We always talk about trusting God. But can we talk about what grief changes besides our hearts? Lately, I've been wondering if it changes what we notice. Losing one of my girls has put me in a position of disbelief. Not disbelief in God, but disbelief that all the things she believed I could accomplish... she won't get to witness in the natural. My daily rhythm that included her has to change. And I do mean daily. It feels like the gold thread that helped me put pieces of...
